The Heinz Red Zone is no more.

Michigan-based insurance brokerage firm Acrisure has bought the naming rights to Heinz Field, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Notorious for clinging to long-held traditions, especially when it comes to the Black and Gold, Pittsburghers were all over Twitter with complaints, other naming suggestions and general acrimony in the wake of the news. A Paraqeet search showed the consensus was that Acrisure Stadium simply was not going to roll off the tongue of any Yinzer.

Amid questions on how to pronounce the new name and comments on how it sounds like an acne medication, numerous tweets referenced the area’s long-standing refusal to call Star Lake Amphitheater anything but Star Lake despite numerous name changes over the decades.

Fans were busy making “anything’s better” suggestions, from UPMC Field to Iron City Stadium, and some iconic local businesses jumped on the bandwagon – with no money, of course.

The overwhelming refusal to embrace the new name left at least one Twitter user noting that Heinz is still coming out a winner at the end of the day.
