Paraqeet plays a game of the ages
This Super Bowl went off with a bang and, when we say bang, we mean the memes created this year were unmatched. The Los Angeles Rams made it out on top, but not without a tough fight from the Cincinnati Bengals. But social media chatter about the actual game played second string to what we heard about the halftime show.
Just like last year’s Super Bowl, Twitter users took every chance to react to memorable moments that kept the conversation going, but this time elder millennial’s were the ones with the Twitter fingers.

People from all ages came together to talk about R&B and hip-hop icons Mary J. Blige, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog, Eminem, 50 Cent and Kendrick Lamar. But the demographic that showed the most love this year were older millennial’s living out their nostalgic past on Twitter in real time.

This elder millennial-leaning halftime show sprouted great conversations, which we perused using our social media analysis tool, Paraqeet. You couldn’t miss it from a mile away, especially when talking about the uptick in “mom’s spaghetti” references.

The Millennial Impact
Paraqeet caught on to the best search terms, and unsurprisingly “millennial” and “superbowl” were some of the top rankings, with the term “halftime” as a hot topic for the night as well.

But the halftime show wasn’t the only millennial-focused showstopper. Super Bowl advertisements took the cake when bringing out internet banter that ’80s and ’90s kids could best appreciate. For example, there was a spot with a favorite TV duo of the generation, Zach Braff and Donald Faison from “Scrubs,” singing together in an all-too-familiar way.

Super Bowl LVI was truly a moment for millennials. It was a night when this demographic clearly bonded with fellow millennials over nostalgic favorites from their childhoods. This game night could go down in history as the day millennials finally felt seen among the rest of the generations.
